Well if you think those high gas prices are really scaring you well I think they're encouraging us to go greener cars. But maybe you should check this article out:

Apparently it doesn't release any CO2 since Hydrogen is mainly hydrogen and no carbon compounds is involved unlike other carbon based fuels. However the MPG rate is low that it can guzzle fuel too quickly and the liquid hydrogen evaporates into its gasous state and drys out.
