Check this out, a Smart ForTwo car with a very low CO2 gram per km rate and the fuel consumption is nearly off the charts! 85MPG and 90g CO2 per km!! Now if your gas station ceases to use diesel by the crude oil being gone forever, you can use vegetable for diesel engines as a substitute! Think about it, no need for pay your money for expensive diesel eh?
